Ownership of Intellectual Property and Reproduction Guidelines

The images, content, and other intellectual property owned or managed by The Enduring Word Museum (TEWM) are provided exclusively for personal or professional study or non-commercial use unless otherwise explicitly approved. No reproductions of any form may be made without prior written consent of TEWM. Any use of TEWM images, content, or other intellectual property for commercial purposes is prohibited unless expressly authorized in writing.

In the event that The Enduring Word Museum grants permission for reproduction, the following conditions shall apply:

Credit Guidelines:

Each reproduced item must be properly credited in accordance with the guidelines provided below unless an alternative is specified and approved:

Compliance with Guidelines:

  • Published Materials: The credit line must appear either on the same or facing page as the item, or a separate acknowledgments or attributions page. Each individual item must be properly credited.
  • Films, Slideshows, Digital, and Video Presentations: The credit line must appear in the “Sources for Items” or “Credits” section of the production.
  • Exhibitions: The credit line must be displayed within the exhibition area, preferably directly beneath or adjacent to the item.
  • Web: The credit line should appear adjacent to the item or within a “Sources” or “Credits” section on the webpage.

Photo Caption Guidelines:

The purchaser or user is required to use the image caption information provided in the Rights and Reproduction Agreement. If additional credit is necessary, the user must follow the instructions provided. Any requests for alterations in wording must be submitted in writing to TEWM for review and final approval.

Permission:

The Enduring Word Museum grants permission for one-time, non-exclusive use of the image/content in a specified publication and territory, as described in the application submitted by the purchaser. Any reprints, new editions, or other uses of the items will require a new application for permission.

Rights of Refusal:

The Enduring Word Museum reserves the right to deny permission for reproduction of its materials to any applicant who fails to comply with its policies or whose proposed use is deemed unsuitable for any reason.

Alterations:

Items provided by The Enduring Word Museum may not be cropped, distorted, superimposed with other images, or modified in any manner without prior written approval from the Museum.

Gratis Copy:

The publisher or purchaser shall provide The Enduring Word Museum with two (2) complimentary copies of the publication in which the item appears.

Disclaimer:

The Enduring Word Museum assumes no responsibility for any infringement of copyright laws, invasion of privacy, or illegal use that may arise from the reproduction of the item. The responsibility for obtaining any third-party permissions lies solely with the user if necessary.

The purchaser’s signature, payment, or reproduction of the item shall constitute proof of agreement to all terms and conditions outlined herein.
